So, here’s the story………………
Once upon a time in
Chicago, Neesh by D.A.R. had an older sister, and her name was Denise Allen
Robinson or D.A.R. She put her name on lovely and amazing sweaters and sold
them in precious boutiques across the United States of America in the 1990’s.
Many of these pieces are still valued by the loyal women who purchased them
and tucked away in their closets as special little treasures.
This Spring, D.A.R.
decided to come back to work and develop a new direction in special knit
clothing. These precious “crumpled balls” of fine pima cotton knit are
individually packaged in their own little pouch to keep them in perfect order
for a drawer, hanger, or suitcase. They have been purposely crunched to create
a crumpled and distressed appearance, BUT, with a little light steaming,
they can be coaxed into a neat and uncrumpled garment. The choice is yours.
As was the case with
D.A.R. from the past, these garments are quite special. The finest Peruvian
pima cotton has been selected then dyed with deep pigment dyes into 4 fabulous
colors. The yarn is then knit into yardage on special industrial machines, cut
and sewn into unique and flattering shapes with the addition of hand loomed
ribbed bands and crumpled grosgrain ribbons. Finally they are washed and
crumpled and set out to dry before settling into their little nested pouch.
As always, we hope that
you enjoy your special D.A.R. garment as much as we enjoy making them…………take a
peek at Denise (the older sister to Neesh) wearing her D.A.R…….................
